Hinterland of Rimini

Provincia di Rimini

The Province of Rimini ("pruvèinza ad Rémmne" in the Romagnolo dialect) is a province of 'Emilia-Romagna region of 325,219 inhabitants.
Southern borders with Marche (province of Pesaro and Urbino) and the Republic of San Marino, east by the Adriatic Sea, north of the province of Forlì-Cesena, on the west by Tuscany (Arezzo).
The province of Rimini was instituted in 1992, it separated from the province of Forli.
In 2009 it was enlarged to include seven municipalities of 'High Valmarecchia: Casteldelci, Maiolo, Novafeltria Pennabilli, San Leo, Sant'Agata Feltria and Talamello, previously included in the province of Pesaro and Urbino in the Marche region.
After a local referendum, the parliament gave the green light to pass from the Marche region of Emilia-Romagna.
Province, land of long tourist tradition, is famous for its seaside resorts of Rimini, Riccione, Bellaria-Igea Marina, Misano Adriatico and Catholic, which extend along its 30 km of coastline along the Adriatic Sea.
